Ideal Protein is a safe, clinically tested, ketosis-driven method that is easy to follow and effective for any level of dieting, from minimal to high percentage weight loss. Unlike other high fat, low protein and low carbohydrate ketosis diets that are currently popular, Ideal Protein fits in foods that are often avoided or reduced, such as complex carbohydrates (vegetables). How Ideal Protein works and a look inside its 4 phases
Our program is set up to match you with a coach. Each coach knows the program inside and out and can truly guide you through foundational steps while also customizing everything to fit in line with your preferences and goals.
The average client comes to us wanting to lose between 40 to 45 pounds and typically stays in the program for up to four months. This weight and date range isn’t exclusive and can be set based on individual health goals. In fact, our Ideal Protein coaches aren’t trying to get to an arbitrary percentage or number. They listen to you and do what makes sense for you, taking into account lifestyle preferences, activity level, current weight and cooking preferences.
We know that true and lasting change comes when a client is in a position of power to take small, meaningful steps in the right direction. Our Ideal Protein coaches empower each client to feel comfortable with the process and guide them along as boundaries are set and plans implemented.
Ideal Protein is set up to be a four-phase protocol that takes you through the diet portion and teaches you how to maintain weight loss as you phase out of the program.
Phase one: weight loss. The first phase is the most strict part of the diet plan but yet still includes delicious foods daily, such as 8 ounces of a clean source of meat, 4 cups of cooked vegetables and unlimited raw vegetables/lettuce. In addition to these items, you can choose a few ready-to-go meals from our store that will help you to quench cravings for foods like chips, protein drinks, snack bars, soups and puddings. All the while, these foods fit the protocol standards by being low carb, low sugar and moderate protein.
One of the best things about the keto diet is that once you get into the fat burning state and your body efficiently learns how to utilize fat for fuel, your level of cravings and hunger will subside greatly. When food cravings aren’t as intense as they once were, you are then better prepared to make good choices with a clear mental state. And our program also provides structure so you know what’s allowed and not allowed, giving you clear boundaries to implement.
Phase two: nutrition education. It’s difficult to eat well when you aren’t sure why food choices matter. This step of the process is all about educating the client in regards to good nutrition.
Phase three: portion control. Foods are slowly introduced back into the diet at their correct portion and quantity to teach you how to maintain weight through knowledge of macronutrients.
Phase four: maintenance. Continuing to do more of what you already do well, such as eating the right foods in the right proportions while making other healthy lifestyle choices, such as exercising most days of the week.
Personally, we feel that the maintenance part of the program is even more important than the diet itself. As mentioned previously, there are plenty of diets on the market, but how many of them set you up for lasting success? Not many, unfortunately, and that is because these diets don’t teach you about the importance of weight maintenance.
We have protocol in place to teach you to understand food and food habits and to know what to do when you eat an unhealthy meal or encounter strong cravings. We focus on setting you up for long-term success, and this plan is rolled out slowly to you so that you understand concepts weekly and at your own pace.
The coaches check in with you weekly until they feel you have grasped the concepts fully. At that point, they start checking in on you bi-monthly.
Side note about supplementation
In addition to laying out four phases, we also highly recommend that you add in proper supplementation. In an ideal world, if you could choose to eat all non-GMO foods that are certified organic there may not be as large of a need for supplementation. However, for most people, we suggest adding in: multivitamin, probiotics, fish oil and calcium/magnesium supplements. These four supplements ensure a diet isn’t deficient in what it needs so that your body can truly thrive.
