Take the well-beaten path this weekend.

With five prominent mountains surrounding Chattanooga, where would we be without our forged paths? Luckily, National Trails Day is Saturday, June 7 + local organizers are ready to celebrate.

Get back to the roots and spruce up one of these trails — all cleanups begin at 9 a.m.

Scenic Bluff Trail

Join National Park Service staff to beautify this path on Lookout Mountain. Starting at the stairs leading to Sunset Rock, you’ll clear exotic, invasive plants + overhanging vegetation.

Hercules Trail

Head to Enterprise South Nature Park to give some TLC to this trail perfect for cyclists, from drainage clearing to tread touch-ups — coffee + lunch will be provided.

Raccoon Mountain

Gear this trail up for summer riding by helping trim back overgrowth and clearing sight lines. Stick around for the pizza party after to celebrate your efforts.

Bonus: Hop in your car to join a nearby hiking event with Tennessee State Parks.
