Swimming holes
Big Soddy Creek Gulf | 11721 Back Valley Rd. | Take a trip along a five-mile out-and-back hiking trail, with multiple stopping points where you can take a dip.
Suck Creek | Suck Creek Road | With several access points, this spot offers a great area for hiking + swimming when things get too hot.
Rainbow Lake | Ohio Avenue | Take a hike from the Rainbow Lake Trailhead + spend time at the waterfall basking in the gorgeous views.
North Chick Blue Hole | 354 Montlake Rd. | This area is sure to cool you down with its vast creek that is perfect for swimming.
Chester Frost Park | 2277 Gold Point Cir. N. | Enjoy a day at the “beach” without having to drive farther than Hixson. Bonus: take the kiddos to play at NOOGA Splash, the floating playground + obstacle course.
Pools
Warner Park | 1254 E. 3rd St. | $3 | Enjoy this pool that features a “Spray and Play” splash pad + obstacle courses.
Carver Center | 600 N. Orchard Knob St. | $3 | Beginning Wednesday, June 7, folks can splash around in this outdoor pool.
Red Bank | 3620 Tom Weathers Dr. | $0-$4 | This community pool has been open since 1962 + offers fun for the whole family.
Signal Mountain | 1100 Ridgeway Ave. | $7-$12 | Town Pool features a “500,000-gallon Olympic-size” pool with a separate baby pool.
South Cleveland Community Center | 1334 Church St. | $2-$3 | This spot has a wide range of amenities including two water slides for your enjoyment.
Martha Denton | 406 Cotter St., Ringgold, GA | $0-$4 |Take a dip in this community pool that is open for the season until Labor Day weekend — season passes are also available.

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has accepted Hamilton County’s $10 million bid on its Golden Gateway campus. The transaction of the 11-acre site at 401 W. MLK Blvd. will close in the coming months pending a majority vote by the county commission. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)

The Chattanooga Airport has added two members to its leadership team. Tena Keith has been named vice president of finance and administration + Kristen Behm will serve as vice president of public relations and air service development. (Chattanoogan.com)
Traffic
The intersection of Cemetery Road + Ringgold Road in East Ridge will be closed for construction beginning on Wednesday, June 7 to install storm drainage pipes. The construction is expected to be completed in nine days. (East Ridge News Online)
Sports
Minor League Baseball has named Chattanooga Lookouts infielder Noelvi Marte as the Southern League Player of the Month. Noelvi led the league in average hits, total bases, and home runs that helped the Lookouts achieve a 15-10 record in May.

Tickets are now on sale for ArtsBuild’s inaugural “Intermission” fundraising event on Thursday, Sept. 14. The event will be a celebration of Chattanooga’s arts community featuring actor Alan Cumming. Get your tickets.

The City of Chattanooga will host an affordable homeownership resource fair + panel discussion on Monday, June 12 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Glenwood Community Center (2610 E. 3rd St.). Attendees can learn more about available resources and housing-related services.
Cause
Better Together, Hamilton County Schools’ district-wide day of service, will be held on Saturday, July 29. Community members are invited to take part in helping refresh + beautify local school campuses for the upcoming school year. Sign up to volunteer.
State
A new area code, 729, will soon join the existing 423 area code in portions of Eastern Tennessee. New customers or requests for additional lines may be assigned the new code once activated. Note: Existing customers will keep their current area code + telephone numbers.

Pork it right there, buddy. We conquered Chattanooga Burger Week, but get ready to eat your way through the Scenic City once again, barbecue style.
That’s right, folks, things are about to get saucy with Chattanooga BBQ Week. From now through Sunday, June 11, you can head to 15+ participating restaurants + enjoy $6 barbecue items.
Riverbend was such a blast with Editor Kristen over the weekend. The sun wasn’t the only thing bringing the heat, all of the acts were incredible. If you couldn’t make it out, don’t let the FOMO get to you — we’ve put together some of our favorite moments.
