The Houston Museum of Decorative Arts is giving new life to its historic home. The location in downtown Chattanooga’s Bluff View Art District is in the middle of renovations to upgrade and preserve the Victorian house that serves as its site.
The multi-stage renovation project is in the process of restoring the interior + exterior of the Victorian home, which was built in the 1890s. The museum recently shared a video showing improvements to its roof as local company New Blue Constructions works on the project.
During the construction, the full museum experience is closed, but you can visit The Houston “Pop Up” Museum to view collections. The museum hopes to begin the final phase of its development at the end of the summer.
