Soon-to-be Chattanooga firefighters now have an upgraded six-story training tower that supports live fire and rescue drills. The $3 million tower includes multiple burn rooms, gas props, and smoke simulation. It is designed to be used by firefighters from all over the region. (News Channel 9)
Outdoors
Chattanooga agencies are advocating for a multi-use greenway alongside I-24 as part of potential expansion plans. The proposed path would connect Lookout Valley to neighborhoods like St. Elmo and North Chattanooga, enhancing outdoor access. TDOT is currently looking into widening I-24 through the Tennessee River Gorge to the I-59 interchange. (WDEF)

There’s a new pop-up bike park along the Riverwalk, thanks to a partnership between several Chattanooga parks and outdoor groups. Located near the Hubert Fry Center, the park features modular biking elements that are designed to help riders of all ages build skills in a low-pressure setting. (The Pulse)

They’re coming to town for the Outdoor Writers Association of America Conference happening Tuesday, Aug. 19-Thursday, Aug. 21.
