Chattanooga is always beautiful but sometimes, it’s downright hot. | Photo by @joehdodd
If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to walk inside an oven — just open your front door.

It’s been a scorching week in Chattanooga, with a heat advisory from the National Weather Service and a “feels-like temperature” hitting 107 degrees.

When temperatures and humidity rise this high, heat illness is a real concern.

How to stay safe

  • Stay inside during the hottest part of the day. (10 a.m.-4 p.m.)
  • Drink lots of water to stay hydrated, even if you’re not thirsty.
  • Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing.
  • Take immediate action when you see possible symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

The Wrap

I may be late to the party, but I just learned that actor Tramell Tillman — known for playing Seth Milchick on the hit TV show “Severance” — went to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

That got me thinking: how many other famous people have surprising connections to Chattanooga? Turns out, quite a few. Check out this list of prominent people who were either born in or lived in our city.
