🎵 Yellow Racket Records | 2311 E. Main St.

Open Monday-Saturday from 12-6 p.m. and until 8 p.m. on Wednesday + Friday

Ben VanderHart founded the independent record label Yellow Racket Records in the fall of 2018 and looked to Chattanooga to open a brick and mortar record store at the beginning of 2020.

Yellow Racket Records opened its doors in August 2020 and has become a place for music lovers to discover, hear, and purchase new + pre-loved records.

Sip on some coffee and sit in the comfy chairs while you listen to new tunes. Want a music recommendation? The knowledgeable staff is there to help you.

🎵 St. Pete Records | 4639 Shallowford Rd.

Open Thursday-Sunday from 12-5 p.m.

This bright + funky record store is Chattanooga’s newest addition to the vinyl scene. St. Pete Records specializes in vintage vinyl, CDs, and cassette tapes.

Need to make some room in your collection? You can also sell your gently used vinyl + CDs. Just reach out with details and the store will be happy to take a listen.

🎵 Inherent Records | 40A Frazier Ave.

Open Monday-Sunday from 12-6 p.m.

Inherent Records is a Tennessee-based record label with a retail location inside of Collective Clothing. You can knock out your vintage clothing + record shopping all at the same time.

🎵 Winder Binder (Featuring Chad’s Records) | 40 Frazier Ave.

Open Monday-Saturday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday from 12-6 p.m.

Winder Binder is a folk art, new + used bookstore, and current home to Chad’s Records, a Chattanooga fixture for over 25 years. Along with art and books, you can search rows and rows of vinyl to your heart’s content.

🎵 For the Record | 412 Northgate Mall Dr.

Open Monday-Thursday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Friday + Saturday from 11 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday from 12-6 p.m.

Located in Hixson, For the Record Chattanooga has music lovers and collectors covered with rows of vinyl, CDs, cassette tapes, artwork, posters, memorabilia + more available for purchase.

For the Record originally opened in 2008 occupying a “kiosk area” in Northgate Mall, and a year later the business expanded into a spacious store inside the mall, across from Burlington.

🎵 McKay’s Chattanooga | 7734 Lee Hwy.

Open Sunday-Friday from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-9 p.m.

The Chattanooga McKay’s opened its doors in 1990 and has since become an area staple for attaining books, movies, music, and more.

When you first enter McKay’s, a few racks of eye-catching records are on display, but when you head up to the second floor, rows of vinyl around the perimeter of the store become visible.

One thing is for sure, when you go to McKay’s you never know what you might stumble upon as the selection is constantly changing. If you don’t mind searching, you’re sure to stumble across some treasures.

🎵 The Refindery | 1300 McCallie Ave.

Open Monday-Thursday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m, Friday + Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sunday from 12-5 p.m.

The Refindery on McCallie is an urban market in Chattanooga where you can find antique, vintage, industrial, and architectural digs.

You might not pin this spot as a place to find vinyl; however, as you make your way through the Refindery, you will stumble upon a significant record collection to search through.
