Our very own Chattanooga Public Library was one of 50 libraries in the US selected to host “Americans and the Holocaust,” a traveling exhibition from the US Holocaust Memorial Museum .

The exhibit examines the motives, pressures, and fears that shaped Americans responses to Nazism, war, and genocide in Europe during the 1930s and 1940s.

The exhibit will be on display from Jan. 27-Feb. 27, including special free events like:

  • Americans and the Holocaust: A Scholar’s Panel | Thursday, Feb. 2 | Scholar Panel featuring UTK + UTC history professors and Tennessee Holocaust Commission Historian Alison Vick
  • History Unfolded | Thursday, Feb. 9 | An interactive research sprint finding how local newspapers covered the Nazi threat + how Americans reacted
