Football is back: What to know about home openers

We’ve got the key info you need for the Mocs’, Vols’, and Titans’ first home games.

Whether you’re cheering on the Mocs from the stands at Finley Stadium or keeping a close eye on the Vols or the Titans, football season is nearly here.

Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming home openers:

Chattanooga Mocs vs. Stetson

  • When and where: Saturday, Sept. 13 at Finley Stadium
  • What’s interesting: The Mocs will take on the Stetson Hatters for the first time.
  • Times to know: Tailgating starts at 3:30 p.m. and kickoff is at 6 p.m.
  • Pro tip: Kids 12 and under wearing a youth sports jersey or cheer uniform get in free.

The Vols are looking for another win over ETSU.

Tennessee Vols vs. ETSU

  • When and where: Saturday, Sept. 6 at Neyland Stadium
  • What’s interesting: The Vols haven’t played the Buccaneers in seven years. Last time they played in 2018, the Vols beat ETSU 59-3.
  • Times to know: Tailgating starts at 8:45 a.m., the team will do the Vol Walk at 10:30 a.m., and kickoff is at 3:30 p.m.
  • Pro tip: The stadium has a Clear Bag Policy, so make sure to bring a clear bag or small clutch purse.

Tennessee Titans vs. Los Angeles Rams

  • When and where: Sunday, Sept. 14 at Nissan Stadium
  • What’s interesting: This marks the beginning of the Cam Ward era, following the team’s selection of the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
  • Times to know: Tailgating starts at 8 a.m. CT and kickoff time is 12 p.m. CT.
