Regular HIV testing and using PrEP + PEP medications are essential to protecting yourself and others.

Did you know? HIV is more prevalent in the South — accounting for 52% of new HIV diagnoses — than in any other region in the US. HIV impacts:

  • 1.2 million people in the US
  • 17,667 people in Tennessee
  • 328 of every 100,000 people in Hamilton County

Another stat to consider: 1 in 7 people with HIV are unaware of their status.

While there is currently no effective cure for HIV, with proper medical care, the virus can be controlled (read: virus-suppressing medication can make HIV undetectable + untransmittable through sex). That’s why a core service in Cempa Community Care’s mission to champion healthy communities is providing HIV prevention and testing services (including free At-Home HIV Testing Kits).

This is where you come in. In an effort to best serve the community, Cempa Community Care wants to know: What questions do you have about HIV or HIV prevention?

Submit your questions and we’ll share the health experts’ answers in a coming newsletter.*
