American monthly magazine Architectural Digest selected the most beautifully designed museums in each state, and Chattanooga’s Hunter Museum landed the Tennessee spot. The article called Randall Stout’s design “eye-catching.” Atlanta’s High Museum of Art took the Georgia slot and Montgomery, Alabama’s National Memorial for Peace and Justice also made the list. The Florence County Museum took South Carolina’s nod and Raleigh’s North Carolina Museum of Art made also earned a mention.
