We’re not foolin’ around when we say Chattanooga is rich with history — some we can be proud of , and some that will always haunt us . Digging into our past will only make our city stronger, so that’s why we started BiblioChatt, a history series in which you ask the questions and we find the answers using only materials from the Chattanooga Public Library.
We launched this series a little over a year ago, but we want to re-introduce it for our new readers + those who may have forgotten what “BiblioChatt” means.
How it works
📚 We ask you for your local history questions — it can be anything from the development of a park over the years to the legacy of one of our past mayor’s.
📚 The questions are narrowed down with library staff — they help us identify what topics have plenty of resources for us to use, and we’re looking for fresh topics we haven’t quite touched yet.
📚 We then give you four options to choose from, and you vote on your favorite.
📚 The winning question is put into the hands of either Chloé or Trista to dig into to + write the story.
📚 A few weeks later, a history feature that was picked by you all is featured in the newsletter and on the NOOGAtoday website .
