This Friday, Nov. 11 is Veterans Day. Many organizations will host ceremonies, events, and deals to honor those who have served in the US Armed Forces + active military members, along with their families.

Here are some of the local Veterans Day offerings happening throughout the community:

  • Veterans Day Concert | Wednesday, Nov. 9 | 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. | Miller Plaza, 850 Market St. | Free | The Chattanooga Community Orchestra will honor veterans with a lunchtime concert.
  • Veterans Day Commemoration | Friday, Nov. 11 | 11 a.m. | Tennessee National Guard Armory | Free | Listen to patriotic music and listen to special tributes at this event.
  • Veterans Day Appreciation Dinner | Friday, Nov. 11 | 1 p.m. | VFW Post 4848, 2402 Amnicola Hwy. | Free | Veterans eat free at this celebration event featuring live music performances.
  • UTC Veteran and Military Affair Veterans Day Event | Friday, Nov. 11 | 2-6 p.m. | University Center, 615 McCallie Ave. | Free+ | This event will feature free food for veterans, giveaways, and fun for all in attendance.
  • Veterans Day Celebration | Friday, Nov. 11 | 3 p.m. | Veterans Memorial Park of Collegedale | Free | Members of the Collegedale Academy Band will perform patriotic selections + various elected officials will share presentations at this event.
  • Veterans Day Concert | Friday, Nov. 11 | 7:30 p.m. | Memorial Auditorium | Free | The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera will present a free concert for the community to pay tribute to those who have served.
  • Veterans Day Breakfast | Saturday, Nov. 12 | 9-11 a.m. | Chattanooga Elks Lodge, 1067 Graysville Rd. | Free | Join the Chattanooga Elks Lodge for a free breakfast + special program with guest speaker Captain Mickey McCamish.

Offers may require showing a military ID or attending in a military uniform.

  • The University Surgical Associate | Offering free vascular screenings throughout the month of November for anyone 50+ who has served in the armed forces. Reservations are required for your free screening at participating locations. Schedule online or by calling 423-493-2302.
  • The Tap House & Empyreal Brewing Co. | Offering veterans a free brew on Thursday, Nov. 10 from 6-9 p.m. + opportunities to win gift cards and prize baskets from local veteran-owned businesses.
  • Point Park | Part of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, Point Park will waive its entrance fee on Friday, Nov. 11. Park rangers will be on site with informational programs at 11 a.m. + to answer questions.
  • Bonus: All of the country’s national parks, forests, and grasslands will have waived fees on Friday, Nov. 11.
