South Chick Creek Greenway | Scheduled to open in 2022 | This 20+ years-long project is finally slated to completely open in 2022. The trail features a recreational opportunity in an often-overlooked part of the Chattanooga area, in addition to a viable transportation route for many — it can even get you from downtown to Camp Jordan via bike in 12 miles.

Airport Expansion | Construction tentatively beginning spring 2022 | The airport announced an expansion set to begin in 2022 that will add 60,000+ sq ft of space to the terminals, more gates and restrooms, an additional security lane + a new restaurant.

John Ross Building | Scheduled for completion mid-2022 | Downtown’s historic John Ross building (at the corner of 4th + Market) is set to undergo a multimillion dollar renovation and turn into an office space, with some unknown preliminary tenants already found.

Lodge Cast Iron Museum | Scheduled to open late summer 2022 | Coming to the home of Lodge Cast Iron in nearby South Pittsburg, the cast iron museum will offer a series of interactive experiences for visitors through three exhibits — How It’s Made, The Lodge History and Legacy, and Cast Iron Culture. The museum is also set to feature the world’s largest cast iron skillet.
