Field trip season has begun with ArtsBuild’s “Imagine!” program

ArtsBuild has partnered with seven organizations around the Scenic City to bring arts education to elementary school children — find out how to sign up for a field trip.

ArtsBuild is making field trips easy for teachers through its “Imagine!” program, bringing opportunities for Hamilton County elementary schools to explore the arts outside the classrooms for free, with transportation covered.

Reservations are now open for teachers to bring their students to these local spots:

Kindergarten
Creative Discovery Museum | Available Tuesdays-Thursdays, Sept. 3 through May 22 | Three educational opportunities — the ArtSpace, STEM programming (energy, robotics, make it + build and test), and early childhood learning

Chattanooga Theatre Centre | Select days from Dec. 10 through May 16 | Choose a production from the company’s regular and youth theater groups, “Willy Wonka,” “The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs,” + “Disney’s 101 Dalmations Kids.”

Second grade
Chattanooga Ballet | Dec. 11-13 | See a matinee showing of a holiday favorite, “The Nutcracker,” performed by the city’s only professional ballet company that seeks to make its work “accessible and inspiring.”

Third grade
Chattanooga Symphony & Opera | Feb. 5 + Feb. 6 | Join this musical group, who has brought classical music to the area since 1933, for a special performance + get inspired and engaged through music education.

SoLit Theatre Express | Feb. 11 + Feb. 12 | Watch Ensemble Theatre of Chattanooga transform a children’s book into a play with accompanied lesson plans.

Hunter Museum of American Art + Sculpture Fields at Montague Park | September through May | Explore the traveling and permanent collections at the Hunter or take the trip to the fields of the outdoor sculpture gardens at Montague Park that features international works.
