The Chattanooga Zoo recently released its 2024 schedule of conservation awareness days . These days include ways to support SAFE (Saving Animals From Extinction) plans, SSPs (Species Survival Plans) + other local and global initiatives.
President and CEO of the Chattanooga Zoo Darde Long said the conservation + preservation of wildlife and their natural habitats are key aspects of the zoo’s mission.
“In celebrating SAFE days, which are created by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, and other conservation initiatives, we hope to inspire a deeper connection between our community and a variety of amazing animals that need protection,” said Long.
Each event will feature special demonstrations, animal enrichment activities + educational displays. Note: The events are free to attend with regular zoo admission on Saturdays.
