Musical advent calendar anyone? Make Music Chattanooga is launching a secondary event for lovers of our local entertainment scene — Make Music Winter, giving us 21 days of events starting Sunday, Dec. 1.

Organizer + local songwriter Janelle Malone-Drake said that the international brand of Make Music Day typically does a summer event (June 21) and winter event (Dec. 21). While Chattanooga has never done a winter version, after a record-breaking year, they wanted to create another way to highlight local artists and venues.

“There are just certain things that make the city come alive, and music is one of those things,” Malone-Drake said. “We’ve made it our goal to celebrate those people while offering something fun for the community.”

This event is truly “go at your own pace” — once you open up the CHA Music Passport app you can view a map + a list of stops that you can enjoy whenever you’d like.

Pro tip: The app doesn’t have to be downloaded, but you can choose to add it to your device’s home screen as a bookmark for easy access.

To set the stage for what the month will look like, here are some of our must-attend destinations.

Once you check in for your stamps, you can also leave reviews or share your experience about the artist and venues.

Bonus: If you can’t get out to these shows, there will also be a virtual performance element where you can watch videos for a passport stamp.
