Did you know that ~15 minutes from downtown Chattanooga, you can go and see alpacas on a small farm? Editor Haley here. I recently spent an afternoon at Rosie Mae’s Alpaca Farm & Boutique, and it was as wholesome as it sounds.

Located at 550 Old Birmingham Hwy. in nearby Wildwood, GA, sits this quaint family-run spot. Owners Max and Meagan Lewis opened the farm in 2022, naming it after their daughter, and if you haven’t visited yet, I have a feeling you might put it on your to-do list.

The farm offers several outdoor seating options to enjoy during your visit.

The farm is open Friday-Sunday and is home to seven alpacas that you can have the opportunity of petting and feeding — Bonus: It’s free. Folks can inquire through the shop + will be supplied with a bag of feed for its furry friends.

Not only has this destination become a fun way to spend a weekend, but it also supports local. While there, I grabbed a coffee that used beans from Mean Mug Coffee Roasters + the boutique offers various local goods and produce for purchase.

The alpacas are friendly and love to eat from your hands.

The spot will also host pop-up music performances or have the Frios Gourmet Pops truck on its site to help cool visitors down.

Note: Select flavors of the sweet treats can now be found inside the boutique at all times — I tried the strawberry mango during my visit.

Cuteness overload yet? If you make your way out there, send us your best selfie with one of the alpacas + keep up with what’s happening each weekend through the farm’s Instagram page.
