Good morning, Chattanooga. 👋 Did you know Election Day is only 20 days away? In TN, early voting begins today + we want to make sure you know how to find your polling place if you’re ready to cast your vote.

🗳️ What is early voting? 40 states + Washington, DC have some form of early voting period. This process allows voters to cast their ballots in advance of Election Day (Tues., Nov. 3).

🗳️ What is the benefit of early voting? There tend to be shorter lines and wait times for voters at the polls. Citizens also have more flexibility to vote at a time that fits into their schedules.

🗳️ When can I vote early? Today through Thursday, October 29. Times vary by location. Check times here.

🗳️ Where can I vote early? Any early voting site within your county of residence. Click here to view locations near you. ProTip: If you plan to cast your vote on Election Day, you’ll need to look up your assigned polling place here.

🗳️ Do I need to be registered to vote? Yes. You can check your status by clicking here.

🗳️ If I vote early, can I also vote on Election Day? No. Your early voting ballot will be recorded as your official vote for the 2020 elections. Polling officials will see that you’ve already voted.

🗳️ Is it safe to vote in-person at an early voting site? A mask mandate is currently in effect to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

🗳️ Is it too late to vote absentee? No. The deadline for absentee ballot applications is Oct. 27. Ballots must be back to the Election Commission on or before Election Day to be counted.
