Chattanooga was recently named one of the “fastest-growing markets for entry-level roles,” alongside Austin + Raleigh.

Pair Chattanooga’s many, many, many rankings as a top work from home city with its recent spotlight in the Wall Street Journal as a “tech, VC hub,” and it’s no surprise that Chattanooga made a top spot as a growing entry-level job market.

But it left us wondering what are these jobs, and where can we find them as locals? So we set out to find some of the cool entry-level jobs in the area.

Engineering Technician | City of Chattanooga | Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology with course work emphasis in Civil Engineering; one-two years relevant work experience preferred.

Head Start Teacher | City of Chattanooga | Qualifications: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, with a minimum of one year of experience with children ages three to four..

Inside Business Sales Representative | EPB | Qualifications: High school education or equivalent with two-five years desired experience related to customer service and sales or training; bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

IT Operations Center Technician | BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, Chattanooga location | Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience; one year technical experience including proven understanding of ITIL.

Junior Recruiter | FreightWaves | Qualifications: Familiarity with the entire recruitment cycle; one-two years experience with recruiting.

PR Coordinator | EPB | Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, or Marketing preferred; three+ years of experience in public relations, traditional media, social media, internet outlets, internal communications and/or other marketing applications.

Media Specialist | Hamilton County Department of Education | Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; master’s degree preferred; current valid Tennessee license required.

Production Team Member | Volkswagen US, Chattanooga plant | Qualifications: Similar manufacturing or automotive experience including assembly, welding, machine operation, and military is preferred.

TVA also offers entry-level training programs to help propel young professionals into a variety of roles. To qualify, you may require a two or four-year college degree or previous relevant work experience.
