Exciting news, Nooga. After being first announced in January of 2022, Shady’s Corner is officially open for business.

The 21+ all-day deli and bar located at 1402 Cemetery Ave. is the work of Unknown Caller’s James Heeley, but folks can expect a different taste on this side of the street.

The beer garden area offers various seating, outdoor bar, and even has fire pit.

Featuring three sitting areas including a pup-friendly beer garden + outside bar, the spacious location has no shortage of places to hang in the shade.

James said they couldn’t be opening up at a better time with the warm weather, and after 16 months of labor + love, he can’t wait to share it with the public.

The menu offers various deli sandwiches, hot or cold, including a “Fancy Grilled Cheese” + even one inspired by Thanksgiving, “The Gobbler,” (think: all the good leftovers on bread). Want to have a bit of everything? They’ve got you covered with a “build your own” option.

With the tagline “happy hour all day, every day” you can also expect cheap, quality cocktails + beer — yes, they have beer. Pro tip: spin the “Wheel of Misfortune” to see what the drink deal of the hour will be.

A few other note-worthy items include a weekend liquid + food brunch menu as well as drip coffee and cold brew for those early in the day hangs.

If the menu isn’t enough to entice you, try your hand at the arcade games in the back. Editor Haley personally enjoyed playing a classic round of Mortal Kombat.

Bonus: Food trucks are wanted — folks can inquire about how to get their truck spotlighted by contacting James via email.

“What Shady’s is, what we want it to be, is a place for everyone. Whatever you want Shady’s to be, it can be. Whenever you need it, it will be here for you” — James Heeley
