https://youtu.be/0LDrtiKGTZs A new soccer tournament for Chattanooga businesses will take place at the newly renovated Miller Park this fall. Operation Get Active will host the inaugural Corporate Cup on Oct. 12 at 4:30 p.m. The tournament will be a coed soccer tournament, featuring three-player versus three-player matches in a round robin format. Participants will include members of local companies and small businesses. Teams will be made up of eight players. The Corporate Cup will serve as a fundraiser for Operation Get Active, with all funds directly supporting Operation Get Active’s flagship after-school soccer programming. Teams can register online here. Registration is limited to the first eight teams. The fee is $150 per team, which will then go toward their fundraising goal. “After talking with our partners at the City of Chattanooga, local business leaders and seeing the wonderful renovation at Miller Park, we landed on this idea to have a fun soccer tournament for adults to play in and raise money for OGA,” Program Director Peter Woolcock said in a prepared statement. Operation Get Active is a health initiative program that uses the game of soccer to encourage young people in Chattanooga to live active and healthy lifestyles. The cost to operate an Operation Get Active after-school program is $4,000 (per school, per semester). The Corporate Cup will have a fundraising goal of $8,000, which would provide enough funding for OGA to operate in two additional schools for the spring semester.
