We love Chattanooga — but everyone likes to get out of town every once in awhile.

We’ll let you in on a secret — there’s a few spots in the Scenic City that make you feel like you’ve left town without ever having to get on a plane.

📍Common House, 1517 Mitchell Ave.

Inside the building are four levels of beautiful interior decor that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a Spanish villa.

When the weather warms up, journey up to the rooftop or lay by the pool for an extra vacation feel (if you don’t have a membership, you can get in with a friend who does).

📍Bluff View Art District, 411 E. 2nd St.

The Bluff View Art District is located in a stunning part of town and is surrounded by a handful of European-inspired cafés and restaurants.

As you make your way through the district’s alleyways, you also come across several art galleries, fountains, and gardens that make you feel like you’re strolling through a small European town.

📍Boccaccia Ristorante Italiano, 3077 S. Broad St.

This hole-in-the-wall, authentic Italian restaurant has absolutely divine food and drinks, but the location itself makes for a special experience.

Boccaccia creates an intimate atmosphere, with dim lighting from a candle placed on your table that makes you feel like you’re the only ones in the restaurant.

📍Opa!, 249 River St.

If you haven’t been to Opa!, you should add it to your list. According to the website, Opa! is “Your ticket to Greece (no passport required)”we couldn’t agree more.

This space feels like a café by the Aegean Sea. Walk along the trellis breezeway, see the colorful murals, and when you see the blue Mediterranean doors you know you have arrived.

📍Embargo 62, 301 Cherokee Blvd.

When you dine at this Cuban restaurant, “you are getting the most authentic experience off the island.”

The cuisine reflects the passion + history of Cuba, but you can also get a taste of Cuban culture through live music + dance events.

📍La Cabriole, 1341 Burgess Rd.

La Cabriole has been voted one of the “Great Restaurants of America for Best French Restaurant” and strives to provide an unforgettable experience to everyone who dines with them.

Pro-tip, when you’re ready to enjoy the special, seven-course meal + wine, make sure to bring cash to pay for your meal.
