Raise your hand if you’ve had the flu and did not enjoy it in the *slightest.* 🙌

The flu is more than an inconvenience, especially this year – according to the CDC, it is possible to have the flu and COVID at the same time. The best way to prevent the flu? Getting an annual vaccine. Here’s why:

  • It makes you less likely to get the flu + less likely to transmit it to others.
  • It protects vulnerable populations (read: children, the elderly and pregnant women) who are at a higher risk of serious illness or death.
  • It reduces the severity + duration of the flu if you do get it.

Science says the more people who are vaccinated, the more difficult it is for the virus to spread. The CDC recommends everyone 6 months or older get a flu vaccine by the end of October. Cue Regina Spektor’s “You’ve Got Time.” 🎶

And DYK you can get your flu shot at Publix? There’s no need to make an appointment (though you can do so online), and they’ll even reward you with a $10 gift card. (So you can #treatyourself to a sweet from the Bakery, a bouquet of flowers or a Chicken Tender PubSub.) 🤤
