Rejoice, Chattanoogans — spring has officially sprung, and with that, the promise of warmer days, blossoming landscapes, and yes (takes deep sigh) pollen. Personally, we think the weather is an underrated conversation topic, so we peeked at some of the major weather trends headed our way over the next few months.

Here’s what you can expect this spring in the Scenic City and beyond based on predictions from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center.

🌡️ Temperature

Think warm. Expect to see warmer-than-normal temperatures across much of the United States, with the exception of the Pacific Northwest, California coast + upper Midwest, where temperatures are expected to be slightly cooler through at least April. In Chattanooga, there’s a 40-50% chance of temps being hotter than usual. Usually, Chattanooga averages highs of 72° in April, 79° in May, and 85° in June.

🌨️ Precipitation

There’s an equal chance that rain will trend above or below normal through June. Usually, Chattanooga averages 3.78” of rain in April, 3.43” in May, and 2.72” in June.

⌛ Drought

The chances of a drought developing will remain unlikely through June 30. Looking for ways to enjoy the spring weather? We’ve got you covered with guides for hikes to local caves + waterfalls, pup-friendly spots, canoe and kayak launch points, and more.
