You were the class clown when you were in high school, you can always guarantee laughs from your friends and family, and now, you’re looking to try some jokes out on a new crowd.

Great news — Chattanooga’s stand-up comedy scene is no joke. Whether you’re wanting to take the stage yourself at an open mic or grab a drink and have an evening full of laughs with local comedians, there’s an abundance of spots for you to check out.

Here are nine local spots with ways for you to participate in or watch stand-up comedy.

The Comedy Catch | Home to Chattanooga’s longest running open mic show, there’s always a good comedy set to watch here. Sign up to take the stage on the first + third Wednesday of each month.

Carpetbagger’s Comedy Night at Chattanooga’s Granfalloon | Check out a show with regional + NYC comics on the first and third Friday of every month.

Pro tip: swing by at 8 p.m. for a pre-show happy hour from Dusk Bar.

Pax Breu Ruim | Open mic nights are every Tuesday starting at 8 p.m. Sign-ups begin at 7:30 p.m.

Improv Chattanooga | Enjoy improvised comedy shows throughout the month and keep an eye out for improv comedy workshops offered.

Hutton & Smith | Offers comedy nights on the second Tuesday of each month with special deals on drinks, keep an eye on the brewery’s Instagram page for date details.
Stone Cup Café | Starting Fri., July 22 Stone Cup will host open mic nights on the second and fourth Friday of each month. Sign-ups are 7:30 p.m. + the show begins at 8 p.m.

Sluggo’s | Hosts open mic nights on the first and third Friday of each month starting Fri., Aug. 19. Sign-ups are at 7 p.m. + the show begins at 7:30.
