Super Deluxe releases album of Nick Lutsko collaborations

Authored By Sean Phipps

An album of Chattanooga native Nick Lutsko’s contributions to Super Deluxe was released today. Lutsko’s satirical songs are a part of a new arm of Super Deluxe called Super Deluxe Music. The site seeks to “make unintentional songs from the actual words of famous people.” The album features 12 tracks including “Alex Jones as an Indie Folk Song” and several different versions of Lutsko’s Emo Trump series. “People have been demanding that we release Nick Lutsko’s brilliant satirical songs on Spotify ever since we first started working with him,” Executive Producer at Super Deluxe Jason Richards said. “My only wish is that Alex Jones were still alive to enjoy them today.” Listen to the album below. Lutsko’s work with Super Deluxe spawned from a video/song project he did for Vic Berger and Tim Heidecker (of “Tim and Eric”) at the 2016 Republican National Convention. Since then, Super Deluxe has served as a platform for Lutsko’s creative endeavors. “Super Deluxe has stretched me far beyond my perceived creative boundaries,” Lutsko said. “This album is the musical manifestation of a dozen-limbed Stretch Armstrong being torn apart by the likes of Fred Durst, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Jeff Goldblum and Cyndi Lauper.” Most recently, he collaborated with Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino for a tribute to “Seinfeld.” The song and music video features selected clips from “Seinfeld,” specifically the Elaine Benes character played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. A video of Lutsko performing “Alex Jones as an Indie Folk Song” live has been viewed 91,000 on Facebook. The original Super Deluxe Video has been viewed more than 4 million times on YouTube.
