Keeping Kids Warm — a Soddy-Daisy-based project led by Commissioner Marcus Keith — is partnering with the community to host a coat + sock drive on Saturday, Jan. 6. The rain or shine event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Soddy-Daisy Kids Club located at 150 Depot St.
This inaugural event hopes to collect 100 new coats to be distributed to area children in need . Note: Coat sizes requested are for elementary + middle school-aged youth. For folks who aren’t able to attend the event, a donation box is currently set up at the Soddy-Daisy Public Library for additional collections.
The drive will also feature a cruise-in + hang-out coordinated by the Soddy-Daisy Speed Shop, where a new coat can be donated for free entry. Folks will be able to check out the cars while enjoying live performances, food, and drink.
