Urban Story Ventures , a southeast real estate development group behind projects like The Bend , will soon break ground on a state-of-the-art Class A industrial building along Amnicola Highway + the Tennessee River.
The group has invested $28 million into the development, which sits on 19 acres within the Centre South Riverport Industrial Park.
Co-owner and developer of the property Jimmy White says the new build is a solution to Chattanooga’s need for more Class A industrial space .
“Several years and over a million and a half square feet later, we’re making another significant investment to attract one of Chattanooga’s next big employers,” said White.
Here’s some history of the site — Urban Story Ventures purchased the Riverport site in 2020 + leased a portion to Fortis Products, LLC. As a result of Fortis’ growth, the group sold the space and the adjacent developed grounds it previously leased to the business in 2023.
Urban Story Ventures will team up with Grace Construction + Method Architecture to construct the building.

Now, the group will construct the Class A industrial building where Fortis’ existing facility ends, stretching to the Tennessee River.
What’s in store for the site? The designs include:
- At least 185,000 sqft of light to heavy industrial or logistics space
- Potential for 40,000 sqft of mezzanine space
- Several loading docks
- Ample parking
- Gated entry
Urban Story Ventures said it is open to leasing the space to one or multiple tenants, with a focus on prospects “looking to expand their business or relocate from another market.”
