Local residents and animal lovers can eat, drink and donate at an upcoming fundraising event for 4 Paws Pantry.
4 Paws Pantry is a local nonprofit that gives pet food to those in need to prevent owners from losing their pets because of insufficient funds for necessities.
“For some of the people we work with, their pets are their only family,” 4 Paws Pantry co-founder Sandi Smith said. “We don’t want them to be alone.”
Smith also said that a lot of these animals belong to people who need them to assist with health issues, such as post-traumatic stress disorder. For this reason, 4 Paws Pantry is listed as a resource for the Wounded Warrior Project and Shelter to Soldier.
Last year, the nonprofit delivered 73,000 meals to pets in Hamilton County, and the nonprofit has delivered 1.2 million since its inception in 2012, according to 4 Paws Pantry.
